Accessibility statement
Mile Zero Charters is a sample company we invented, and this is the statement for the sample site. It is written the way a real operator's would be: the site is built to work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. That is a goal we keep working on, not a finished certificate. Statement prepared 22 October 2026.
What the site does
- Keyboard. Every link, button, form field and the chat can be reached and used with a keyboard, and the focus outline is always visible. Escape closes the chat, the menu and the options panel and returns you to where you were.
- Contrast and size. Text is checked against the AA contrast ratios (4.5 to 1 for normal text, 3 to 1 for large text). Text can be enlarged with the browser or with the options panel without losing content.
- Pictures. Every picture has a text description. The pictures are AI-generated for this demonstration, and two are illustrations, labelled as such.
- Motion. The site follows your device's setting to reduce motion. The options panel can also pause all animation.
- Forms and chat. Every field has a label, errors are written next to the field in plain words, and the chat assistant works with a keyboard and a screen reader. The assistant is automated, and it says so.
- Options panel. The tab on the left edge of the page (on a phone, the menu and the footer) opens text size, high contrast, underlined links, paused motion and a more readable font. Your choice is remembered in this browser only. These options change how this page looks to you; they are an aid, not a substitute for the work above.
What is not perfect yet
- We test with automated tools and by using the keyboard. This sample has not been reviewed by an outside accessibility specialist.
- Links to other websites (the sources of the local facts, for example) are run by other people, and we cannot control their accessibility.
- Boarding and seating on a real boat cannot be described by a website. In a real request, tell the crew what you need and a person will describe it honestly before you decide.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard to use, tell us which page and what happened. Because this is a sample, the number on it, (656) 236-2374, is a Bots On Staff demonstration line: call it and you reach us.
