The crew

Loud boat. Calm crew.

Three people, one dock and a briefing that comes before the throttle. They are part of a sample we invented.

Captain

Captain Dee Ruiz

Dee leads the briefing at the dock and tells you what you are looking at, and why it is there. Questions are welcome at any point, including the one about the fan. The orange ear protection around the neck is not a fashion choice.

“The fan does the shouting. We do the explaining.”

Mateo

Captain on the light

Mateo times the rides for the light and keeps the commentary short. On a private anniversary ride, he is the reason it feels unhurried.

Jo

The dock office

Jo reads every request and writes back. A real person, an email or a call, usually before anyone has found the coffee.

Why the briefing comes first

Because a loud boat needs a calm explanation.

An airboat is an unusual way to travel, and the first minute on one is easier when you know what to expect. So every ride begins at the dock: where to sit, how to hold on, what the hand signals mean, and how to ask for a slower pace.

Ear protection is offered at check-in. Minimum ages, seat rules and any limits are posted there too, and the crew is happy to answer before you travel if you put the ages in your request.

The dock

Life jackets on the seats, ear protection ready.

The dock is a weathered wooden one on Lake Tohopekaliga, and the boats are yellow so you cannot lose yours. A sample address is on the Areas page; a person gives real directions when they confirm your ride.

The area and the dock

Send a request. A person writes back.

That is the whole system. Nothing is booked or held until a person on the crew confirms by email or a call.
