About the lake and the ride
Lake Tohopekaliga covers nearly 23,000 acres, and Kissimmee sits on its northern shore. That is a lot of open water to explain, which is why every Marsh Mellow ride starts with a briefing and a plain map in the captain's head.
Lake Toho is the largest lake in Osceola County and runs about 42 miles around. A 30-minute ride and a 2-hour ride cover very different amounts of it, so the rides page says which is which.
Shingle Creek feeds the lake, and the lake belongs to the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, which the South Florida Water Management District describes as the headwaters of the Everglades. The Headwaters Deep Dive is built around that single idea.
Lakefront Park on the lake's north side has a playground, seating and a miniature lighthouse, so families can plan a meet-up before or after a ride. The crew points guests to it from this page.
