Questions
Before you order
Do you have nut-free or gluten-free options?
We cannot promise either. Almonds, pecans and pistachios are used in the same kitchen as everything else (macarons, the almond croissant and the pecan pie contain nuts), and wheat flour is in the air all day. We would rather tell you that before you order than after. Ask the counter about your specific allergy and a person will tell you honestly what is possible.
How much notice do you need for a custom cake?
At least three days for a layer cake and a week for a tiered or wedding cake. A baker reads every request and writes back with a design, a price and a confirmed date. Nothing is confirmed by the chat or the form.
Do you price custom cakes from a photo?
A baker looks at the photo and quotes the cake after reading your request. The chat on this page will never put a price on a custom cake from a photo.
How does pickup work?
Make a request on the order page or in the chat. A person at the counter texts you to confirm and gives you a time. Pay at the counter when you pick up. Most requests are ready in about 15 minutes.
Can I change or cancel a request?
Yes. Call the counter on (656) 236-2374 or reply to the confirmation text. For custom cakes, tell us as soon as you can, because the baking starts the day before.
Do you deliver?
Not in this demo. Pickup is at 118 Honey Lane, with a ten-minute spot by the door. For catering we can box everything so it travels well.
What are your hours?
Monday to Saturday 7 am to 6 pm, and Sunday 8 am to 3 pm. Fresh trays come out of the oven all morning; the case is fullest before 10 am.
Is anything on this site real?
No. Sugar & Crumb Bakery, its people, address, prices and reviews are invented for a demonstration by Bots On Staff. The phone number is a Bots On Staff line.
