The crew

A crew that walks the dock first.

Three people, one dock and a briefing board. They are part of a sample we invented.

Head wrangler

Jo Okafor

Jo leads the briefing at the dock: how the machine works, how to start and stop it, where you may ride and what the hand signals mean. Questions are welcome at any point, including the one you thought was silly.

“The spray is optional. The briefing is not.”

Marcus

Dock hand

Marcus fits the life jackets and walks each rider to their machine. He is the person to ask about what to wear.

Elle

Dock hand and office

Elle reads the requests overnight and writes back. A real person, by email or a call.

The briefing

Paperwork, then the briefing. Then the key.

The crew goes through the paperwork and a briefing before anyone rides: how the machine works, how to start and stop it, where you may ride and what the hand signals mean. In this sample, guests sign a waiver at check-in; a real operator sets its own.

Age and boating-safety ID rules are posted at check-in. Put the ages and drivers in your request and a person will tell you what applies.

The dock

Vests on the rail, machines in a row.

Check-in is on the dock. A person confirms the meeting point and parking in their reply; details are not given in the chat.

The river and the area

Send a request. A person writes back.

The spray is optional. The briefing is not. Nothing is booked or held until a person confirms by email or a call, and no payment is taken here.
