Questions
Ask before you launch.
Ten honest answers. If yours is not here, the chat or the crew will tell you straight.
The questions
What happens at check-in?
The crew goes through the paperwork and a briefing: how the machine works, how to start and stop it, where you may ride and what the hand signals mean. In this sample, guests sign a waiver at check-in; a real operator sets its own.
Who can drive?
Age and boating-safety ID rules apply to driving a jet ski. The crew posts what applies at check-in and checks IDs there. Put the ages and drivers in your request and a person will tell you what applies.
Can a non-driver ride along?
Often, on a two-up machine. Ask in your request; the crew confirms what is possible for your group.
Do I need to swim?
Tell the crew if anyone is not a confident swimmer. In this sample a life jacket is worn on every ride and fitted at check-in. A person will answer your specific question.
What should we wear?
Swimwear or quick-dry clothes, secure water shoes, sunscreen, and sunglasses with a strap. Leave phones, keys and wallets in the car or ask the crew what is possible.
Where do we ride?
On the Halifax River, within the area the crew shows you on the briefing board. The crew sets the limits, and rides stay inside them.
What if the weather turns?
The crew's call. Lightning, strong wind and poor conditions can pause or cancel a ride. If yours cannot go, the crew contacts you to talk through the options.
How big can our group be?
The number of machines varies by day and is confirmed by a person. Put your numbers in the request; for bigger groups, a person will talk through machines and timing.
Is it accessible?
Tell us in the request. A person will describe boarding and what the ride involves honestly before you decide.
How does a request work?
The chat or the form drafts a request: ride, date, riders, ages, drivers, notes. A person at the dock confirms by email or a call. Nothing is booked or held until they do, and the chat takes no payment.
