The Halifax River, end to end.
Rooster Tail rides the Halifax River at Daytona Beach, in Volusia County.
About the river and the beach
The Halifax River runs 25 miles through Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, Daytona Beach, South Daytona, Daytona Beach Shores, Port Orange and Ponce Inlet. A sample rental on its Daytona Beach stretch asks only what the crew needs: who is riding, their ages and who would drive.
Daytona Beach has over 23 miles of public beaches and is split in two by the Halifax River. The sand has its own rules (cars are still permitted on most of it at 10 mph); on the river, the crew explains the rules for the water at check-in.
The river meets the Atlantic at Ponce Inlet, where the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, a National Historic Landmark first activated in 1887, marks the mouth. It is a useful landmark on the briefing board.
The Halifax River is part of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, and the sample’s rides stay within the area the crew shows on the briefing board. The chat drafts a rental request; a person confirms it. It never prices a ride, checks an ID or holds a date.
