A warranty is only worth what it says. Here is what ours says.
A shop that has traded in one neighborhood for over a decade does not stay there by arguing about warranties. Here is how the work is handled, in the order it happens.
The repair warranty
The warranty on your job is written on your repair order, in months and miles, before you approve it — not quoted at you afterwards. Bring the car back inside it and the same fault gets put right at no charge. Ask at the counter and we will tell you what it is for the work you are having done, because it is not the same on every repair.
Estimates and approvals
You get a written estimate before work starts, itemized by part and labor. If the job turns out to need more than the estimate covers, work stops and you get a revised figure to approve. We do not carry on and tell you afterwards.
Your old parts
Ask and the parts we replaced go home with you. Some warranty and core-return parts have to go back to the supplier, and where that is the case we will tell you before the job rather than after.
Diagnostic charges
Diagnosis is skilled time and it is charged for. You are told the figure before we start, and told whether it comes off the repair if you go ahead — both before the car goes on the lift, never after. If we cannot find the fault, you get what we ruled out and what it would take to go further.
Storage and abandoned vehicles
We will always call before a finished car becomes a storage question, and we will keep calling. Nobody here wants your car; we want the bay.
