What you get
A beard that looks grown on purpose
Most beards go wrong at the neckline: too high and the jaw disappears. We set it about a finger above the Adam’s apple, follow your natural cheek line, and blend the sideburns into the haircut.
- Length taken down evenly with clippers and scissors.
- Cheek and neck lines set with a straight razor.
- Beard oil to finish, unscented if you prefer.

How it goes
Hot towel
A warm towel softens the hair and the skin under it, so the trim is even and the razor glides.
Length
Clippers with a guard for bulk, scissors for the shape, checked from the side and below.
Lines
Neckline and cheek line set with a straight razor, matched on both sides.
Oil and a look
Beard oil worked in, then the hand mirror so you can see the neckline for yourself.
Ask for it by name
Growing it out?
Come in every three to four weeks, even when you want length. Shaping is not the same as cutting.
Growing out
We tidy the neck and cheek lines only and leave the length alone, so the awkward stage looks deliberate.
Keeping a shape
Every three to four weeks: length taken down evenly and the lines reset.
Going clean
That’s the hot-towel shave, $40, forty minutes reclined with a straight razor.
Questions
Beard trims & shaping: straight answers
How often should I get my beard trimmed?
Every three to four weeks keeps a shape. Lines only in between, $12, if you like it very sharp.
Where should my neckline be?
About a finger’s width above the Adam’s apple for most people. Higher than that and the jaw disappears; your barber will show you in the mirror before cutting.
Do you use a straight razor on the lines?
Yes, with a new blade for every client.
I get razor bumps. Can you still line my beard?
Yes. Tell the barber first; we go with the grain only, or use a trimmer instead of a razor on the neck.
