Dip powder
Dip powder nails in Winter Park
Colour sealed in thin layers of powder: harder than gel, no lamp, and on most guests it lasts three weeks or more. A good choice for nails that bend, peel or chip.
- Powder poured, never shared
- No lamp
- About 60 minutes

What you get
Tough, glossy and low-fuss
Dip powder is colour in a fine powder that bonds to a clear base and is hardened with an activator. Built up in two or three thin layers, it gives a strong, glossy finish without adding much length.
For hygiene, we pour the powder over each nail from a fresh portion and throw away what falls, rather than dipping every guest’s fingers into the same jar.

Step by step
How a dip set goes
- Prep. Shape, cuticle care and a light buff.
- Layers. Base, powder, repeated two or three times.
- Activate and shape. Hardened in seconds, then filed to your shape.
- Finish. A glossy top coat and cuticle oil.
After you leave
Dip is kind to nails, if you soak it off
Like gel, dip must be soaked off. Prying it lifts layers of your own nail with it.
- Dip often lasts three weeks or more before it grows out.
- If a corner lifts, come in; don’t glue it at home.
- Dip removal before a new set is $8.
- Cuticle oil every evening keeps the edges sealed.

How dip works
Colour in thin, sealed layers
No lamp: the powder bonds to a clear base, and an activator hardens it.
Base
A thin clear base on one nail at a time.
Powder
Coloured powder, poured over the nail from a fresh pot rather than dipped by every guest.
Repeat
Two or three thin layers for strength and even colour.
Seal
Activator to harden, a quick file to shape, then a glossy top.

Questions
Dip powder: what guests ask
How long does dip last?
Often three weeks or more. It usually grows out before it chips.
Is dip better than gel?
It is harder and a little thicker, and it often lasts longer, especially on nails that bend or peel. Gel feels thinner and more like your own nail. Neither is better for everyone.
Is the powder shared between guests?
No. We pour a fresh portion over your nails and throw away whatever falls. Your fingers never go into a shared jar.
Can dip add length?
A little, with tips ($60). For real length and shape, acrylic is the better choice.
