What you get

A manicure that is careful, not rushed

Most of what makes a manicure look good happens before the colour goes on: an even shape, clean cuticles that are pushed back rather than cut away, and a nail plate that has been gently prepped.

We use regular polish on a classic manicure, which looks lovely for about a week. If you need it to last through a trip, ask about gel or dip.

Step by step

How a manicure goes

  1. Soak and clean. A short warm soak, and the old polish off.
  2. Shape. Filed to the shape you ask for with a new, single-use file.
  3. Cuticle care. Pushed back and tidied. Only loose, dead skin is nipped, never live skin.
  4. Massage and colour. A hand massage with lotion, then base, two coats and a top coat.

After you leave

Make it last the week

Regular polish needs about an hour to cure fully, even when it feels dry. A little care in the first day makes the difference.

  • Keep hands out of hot water for the rest of the day.
  • Wear gloves for washing up and cleaning.
  • Use cuticle oil at night; it keeps the edges from lifting.
  • A clear top coat on day three or four adds a few more days.

Questions

Manicures: what guests ask

How long does a manicure take?

About thirty minutes for a classic and forty-five for a spa manicure. A first visit, or nails that need a lot of reshaping, can take a little longer.

Do you cut cuticles?

We push them back and only nip away loose, dead skin. Cutting live cuticle leaves the skin open and makes it grow back thicker.

Can I bring my own polish?

Of course. We are happy to use it, and the price is the same.

Is the file new?

Yes. Files and buffers are single-use: new for you, then yours to keep or thrown away.

We built this one. The next one has your name on it.

What the chat on this page is doing

Ask gel or dip and it gives the honest trade-off — dip is a powder sealed in layers, harder and often longer-lasting; gel is thinner and more flexible; acrylic is the one for length. Say your feet have poor circulation and it asks you to tell the technician before the soak.

It takes a name and a number and hands it straight over. Nothing here is held, booked or confirmed, and it will not price the job.
