We measure before we quote
Amp draw against the plate, suction and discharge pressure against the design head, and the actual voltage at the panel. A motor pulling within spec on a system with a blocked impeller is not a failed motor, and swapping it will not fix the pool.
The commonest wrong replacement
A pump that will not hold prime is usually an air leak on the suction side — a lid o-ring, a drain plug, a cracked union — which costs a few dollars. It is sold as a pump replacement more often than any other pool part. We pressure-test the suction line before we quote a motor.
