Drywall patches are the backbone of most lists: the doorknob that went through the wall, the nail pops over the bed, the crack that comes back above the same door every summer. We patch, tape, feather and texture to match, so the wall is ready for paint.
Sanford has a lot of early-1900s houses with the original plaster, and plaster is its own job: it cracks and loosens as a house settles, and it doesn’t patch like drywall. We say which it is before we start.

- Painted surfaces in a house built before 1978: sanding or cutting into more than a small patch of old paint needs a firm certified for lead-safe work, and the owner checks that first.

Will I see the patch?
Not once it’s painted, on a flat or lightly textured wall. Heavily textured walls take longer to match, and we tell you that before we start.
Why does the crack over my door keep coming back?
Because it was filled, not taped. The frame moves a little with the seasons; tape bridges the movement, filler just cracks again.
