Putting up and taking down storm panels already made for the house, bringing in patio furniture, and the close-up and open-up of a seasonal house. New shutters or tracks need a permit, and a licensed contractor.
When a storm is coming, the job is getting the panels that were made for your house onto the tracks that are already there, in the right order, with every wing nut on. After it passes, they come down, get stacked and labelled, and the tracks get checked.
We don’t fit new shutters, cut new panels or put up tracks. Those need a permit in Florida, and after a declared emergency the state is strict about who does what. Storm damage we look at before we say yes: some of it is ours, and anything structural or on the roof is not.
