Order of operations
Clean, let it dry properly, replace the joint sand, then seal. Sealing before re-sanding locks in the gaps; sealing before it is dry traps moisture and turns the whole patio milky.
Sand is structural, not decorative
Joint sand is what stops pavers moving. Polymeric sand sets and resists weeds and washout. A patio that has lost its joints will keep spreading until it is re-sanded, and no amount of sealer holds it.
Wet look or matte, chosen before we start
A wet-look sealer darkens the stone permanently until it wears off. Some people love it and some regret it. We will put both on a test patch and let you choose in daylight.
