For auto body shops · the photo estimator

Auto body photo estimates and scheduling that end with a drop-off day.

Your customer leaves their details, sends two to four photos and the VIN from the chat on your site. A line-item estimate is drafted from them, and nothing reaches the customer until your estimator says yes.

Drop-off days

She picks a drop-off day, the shop confirms it.

After the estimate, the chat offers the drop-off days your shop has open. A shop with more than one location can offer different days at each. The calendar below is an example layout.

  1. 1She sends damage photos
  2. 2Estimator approves, she picks a day
  3. 3Shop confirms the drop-off

Nothing is set until a person on your team says yes.

01 How it works

Photos at night. Your yes in the morning.

The same four steps a body shop's own estimate form takes, in the same order.

  1. Step

    Contact details first

The customer says how they want the estimate sent, and leaves a name and a number or an email. Nothing else is asked until the shop can reach them.

  2. Step

    Two to four photos

One wide from about ten steps back, one at an angle, and a close-up. No photos, no estimate.

  3. Step

    The car, and its VIN

Year, make and model, then the VIN, snapped from the door-jamb sticker or typed, so the right part is priced for the exact trim.

  4. Step

    Your estimator approves it

The AI drafts a line-item estimate. Somebody at your shop reads it and says yes, and only then does the customer see anything.

How much to fix my front bumper?

I can get you a free estimate. What's your name, and the best number or email?

Dan, (555) 014-6621

Thanks, Dan. Now 2–4 photos: one wide from about 10 steps back, one at an angle, and a close-up.

Got 2 photos. Year, make and model, and the VIN? It's on the driver's door-jamb sticker.

Thanks. Your estimate is being written from your photos. Our estimator checks it before we send it to you.

02 The limits

What it will not do.

Read this part before the rest. Each one is a thing a shop would otherwise find out in month two.

  • Limit

It is not the final bill

It drafts the estimate a shop would write from photographs. Supplements happen after teardown, and it runs under the final billed amount, because nothing that reads a photograph can see behind a bumper cover.

  • Limit

    No photographs, no estimate

A request with no photos does not get one. The customer is told plainly that nobody can price what nobody has seen. The chat still answers their questions; it just will not invent a number.

  • Limit

    It drafts. A person approves

Nothing reaches a customer until somebody at your shop has read it and said yes. That is why the drafts are worth having.

  • Limit

It is not sold on its own

Bare, it would put estimates in an inbox with nobody to answer the reply. It comes with Growth, the plan with every bot on staff, at no extra charge. The estimate scrubber is not on a plan right now, so ask us.

03 The price

Questions

Straight answers.

What does it cost?

Nothing on top of the plan. The photo estimator comes with Growth, $249 a month, at no extra charge, for auto body shops only. It is not on Mini or Starter. The estimate scrubber is not on a plan right now, so ask us.

What does my customer actually do?

Leaves a name and a way to reach them first, then sends two to four photos of the damage, then the year, make and model and the VIN. The draft goes to your shop, not to them.

Can another trade use it?

No. It reads photographs of vehicle damage and nothing else, so it is sold to body shops only. Every other trade gets a chat that asks its own first question, from Starter, $149 a month.

Does the customer see the draft straight away?

No. The draft waits for a person at your shop. Only after somebody has read it and approved it does the customer see anything.

How accurate is it?

We do not publish an accuracy figure. We have measured it on a sample far too small to mean anything, and a percentage off a handful of jobs would be marketing, not evidence. Treat each draft as a starting point for your estimator.

Is it set to my shop?

Yes, once, at the start, by a person: your labor rate, your paint scale, the way you call repair against replace, and the operations you always include.
