Handyman · Online estimates and scheduling

Handyman online estimates and scheduling for a list, not a single job.

Today the chat on your site asks what is on the list and hands the request to a person. Offering the days you work in each area, and a photo for each job, are what we can set up and build. Neither is live on every site. One visit can cover the whole list, so the day matters most.

In short. Handyman online estimates and scheduling begin with the chat asking what is on her list. Today it hands the list to a person. We can set it up to offer your open days for her area, and you say yes. A photo for each job is not live.

Today the chat asks the first question. A photo of each job is what we can build.

Scheduling

One visit, one day, offered for her area.

A handyman works a few areas, a few days each, and a long list can fill a day. We can draw the days you work in each area and let the chat offer one once the list is in. This is an example layout.

  1. 1She types her list of jobs
  2. 2Chat offers days for her area
  3. 3A person reads it, says yes

Nothing is set until a person on your team says yes.

01 What we can build

Six pieces of a photo estimate, and which are live.

Each card says what it is and whether it exists today. Where the tag says we can build it, it is not live, and nothing here should be read as saying it works now.

  • We can build it

One photo for each job on her list

From the chat on your site she could attach a photo for each line: the drip under the sink, the gate latch, the wall behind the TV. No app to install, no account to make. This is not live today. It can be set up.

  • We can build it

The chat tells her what to photograph

A short prompt for each kind of job: the hinge side and the strike plate for a sticking door, the whole wall for a mount, the post for a loose gate. It would also ask her not to open walls or panels. Wording you approve.

  • Written into your website

    The first question is live

Today the chat asks what is on the list and hands the request to a person at your business. That works now. Photos are the part we can build on top of it, so each line arrives with its picture.

  • We can build it

Each photo stays with its line

We can set the request up to reach you as her list with a photo beside each job, her contact details and her words, so you are not matching pictures to a voicemail. Today a request reaches you without photos.

  • We can build it

You sort each line at your desk

You look when it suits you and decide, line by line, whether a job is yours, a licensed trade's, or needs a look first. The sorting is your call, made by a person who has seen the picture.

  • We can build it

You reply with a day and time

Instead of walking through the house first, you answer with a day and time that suit your calendar, or tell her which lines go to someone else. The reply is yours, and nothing reaches her unless you send it.

People ask

Questions homeowners type, answered plainly.

Can a handyman give an estimate online?

He can start one. The chat asks what is on her list and sends it to you. You sort each line, say which jobs are yours and write any estimate yourself. The chat names no figure. A photo for each job is something we can build. It is not live.

How do I schedule a handyman online?

Write the list in the chat and ask for a day. We can set the chat to offer the days the handyman works her area. It only offers them. He reads the list, then says yes or suggests another day.

Can one visit cover a whole honey-do list?

Often, and that is why the day matters. The chat gathers the whole list first, so you can judge what fits in a visit and which lines belong to a licensed trade. Then a person offers or confirms a day.

02 How it would go

A list, a phone, and a handyman at his desk.

This is the story we can build, told in order. Photo intake is not live, so read every step after the first as what would happen once it is set up.

  1. Step

    The list gets long enough

She opens your site, and the chat asks what is on the list. She starts typing the jobs. That much is how the chat works today.

  2. Step

She sends a photo for each job

Once photo intake is built, the chat would ask for one picture per line: the faucet, the door edge, the gate post, the wall. She takes them while walking through the house and sends them in the same conversation.

  3. Step

You sort the list at your desk

The photos would reach you with her words. You go line by line: yours, a licensed trade's, or needs a look first. Where your state limits what a handyman may do, those lines are not yours to take.

  4. Step

You reply with a day and time

You write back with a day and time, and say which lines you will do. The chat names no figure, and nothing reaches her unless you send it. No walkthrough first, just to look.

03 The straight part

What is live today, and what is not.

Read this part first. It says plainly what a handyman has today and what is still only something we can build.

  • Live today: the first question

The chat on your site asks what is on the list and hands the request to a person at your business. It does not take photos, and it does not name a figure for any job.

  • Not live: photo intake

A homeowner cannot send a photo through the chat today. We will tell you when photo intake is built and has been tried from a phone from start to finish, and not before. We name no date.

  • A photo does not show behind the wall

Pictures cannot show a leak inside a wall or what is wired behind a switch. If she sees water spreading or sparking, or notices a smell of gas, she should call the proper emergency number first, then write to you.

  • A photo does not make a job yours

Where your state limits what a handyman may do, a clear picture of an electrical or plumbing job does not change whose job it is. You sort each line, and our pages never offer work you are not allowed to take.

Questions

Straight answers.

Can a handyman tell from one photo whether a faucet is fixable?

Sometimes, and sometimes not. A photo of the drip, the handle and the shutoff can show a worn part or a corroded fixture, but not what is behind the wall. That is why you decide. You review the picture, say what you can do, or ask to see it before you reply with a day.

What photo should she send for a TV mount?

The wall where it will go, taken straight on and from a few steps back, plus the back of the TV if she has it. The prompt could also ask which room it is and whether the wall is plaster, drywall or brick, if she knows. You decide whether you can tell enough.

What if her list is long?

Then it arrives as a list, one line at a time, each with its own picture. You are not reading one long message. A long list is the draw of this trade, since one visit can cover many small jobs, and sorting line by line lets you see at a glance which lines are yours.

What if a line turns out to be a licensed trade's?

You say so in your reply. Where your state limits what a handyman may do, you tell her that line belongs with a licensed electrician or plumber and keep the rest. The chat does not make that call for you, and no page we write offers work you may not take.

What if the photos do not show enough?

You reply asking for another, or you say the job needs a look first. Neither obliges you to give a day. A photo estimate is meant to save the drive when the picture is enough, not to replace a visit when it is not. The decision stays with you, job by job.

What about a rental turnover with the tenant out?

A landlord or agent could send a list for a vacant unit with photos from each room, which suits this kind of work well. The prompts would ask for the address with each set so you can tell them apart. You still sort each line and reply with a day and time. Pages like these come within the pages your plan includes.

What should she do if a photo shows something dangerous?

If she sees water spreading near outlets, smells gas, or sees sparking or a hanging live wire, she should call the proper emergency number or the utility first and stay clear. Photos and a message to you can wait. We would say that in plain words wherever she is asked to send a picture.

Can she add jobs after I have replied?

She could, as a new message in the same conversation, with a photo of the new item. You would see it beside the earlier list and decide whether it fits the visit. Nothing about your earlier reply changes unless you change it. That is how a short list often turns into a longer one.
