A hand holds a phone showing a chat on a marina dock with a pontoon boat blurred behind.

Boat rental website design: Boat plans start at midnight. The chat keeps notes.

She wants a boat for a Sunday on the water. The chat drafts a rental request for your crew to read.

Tiller & Chill Boat Rentals is a sample boat rental company we invented. Its whole website is in the frame below, and every page works.

How it works

How the chat works, in four steps.

From a guest's thumb to the dock's inbox. Fenders handle bumps; the request is tidy.

  1. The chat

    A guest taps the chat.

Illustration: a guest holds up her phone to tap a chat button at the marina while a seagull on a piling copies her pose and the host grins.
  2. A few taps

It asks the questions a dock hand would.

Illustration: the guest types on her phone while three abstract question bubbles float above it and the host raises an eyebrow in approval.
  3. The request

Fenders handle bumps. The request is tidy.

Illustration: the host with reading glasses perched on his cap admires a neat abstract request card on a tablet while the guest looks on, pleased.
  4. The reply

A person confirms by email or a call.

Illustration: the host gives a thumbs-up and the guest spins for joy on the dock as a seagull salutes.

A day at the dock

A day at the dock.

What the chat does while the crew is busy with lines and fenders.

  1. A pontoon boat and a centre-console boat tied up at the dock in morning light.

    Open at the dock.

The crew walks the boats and reads the overnight requests. Each lists party, ages and experience.

  2. A phone showing a chat, held on a marina dock beside a pontoon boat.

    A guest wonders about docking.

The chat explains the orientation and where the rules are posted.

  3. New rental requestOption · dates · party · ages · experience

    The request lands.

One email: option, dates, party, ages, experience. A person replies.

  4. A family in life jackets boarding a pontoon boat after the orientation.

    Orientation, then keys.

A person has confirmed. The orientation comes before the boat leaves the slip.

Local detail

Local facts, named and sourced.

A site built for your waterways says what is true about them. The sample's Areas page uses these three, each with its source.

  • 300 milesGreater Fort Lauderdale has 300 miles of inland waterways, about 165 of them within the city of Fort Lauderdale.Visit Lauderdale
  • To VirginiaThe Intracoastal Waterway works like a thoroughfare, and a boater could sail its full length to Virginia.Visit Lauderdale
  • Yachting CapitalFort Lauderdale is also known as the Yachting Capital of the World, as shown by its International Boat Show.Visit Lauderdale

What's on it

What's on a boat rental website.

  • The rentals All eight as a register, from 2 to 8 hours, with a two-tap finder.
  • The crew Cole Brandt, Andre and Priya, and why orientation comes first.
  • Questions Check-in, experience and licences, the captained option, weather and how a request works.
  • Areas Greater Fort Lauderdale's waterways, the Intracoastal and the New River.
  • Request a rental A request, not a booking; the chat opens beside the form.

The front page

Its front page carries eight rentals with the length on every row, an orientation at the dock before the keys, and the rules posted at check-in.

The line worth reading

Can the chat tell if we can handle a boat? “No. It does not judge anyone’s skill or check an ID.” The crew decides at orientation whether a self-drive rental suits you, and offers the captained option if it does not.

Why it looks like that: Harbor Navy and Brass in a serif: the hero picture in a brass-ringed porthole, three legs joined by arrows, a register of eight rentals and an orientation panel for what happens before the keys. Every site we build gets its own structure, not the same page in another colour.

What it does

What it does for boat rental companies and marinas.

Four friends seen from behind sit on a pontoon boat's bow with drinks raised toward a turquoise bay. A photo from Tiller & Chill Boat Rentals, the sample boat rental website.
  • The chat on the site drafts a rental request: which rental, a day and a backup, the party and their ages, the group's boating experience, and a name and a way to reach them, around the clock.
  • Nothing is booked, held, priced or promised over chat and no boat is held; it never judges anyone's skill or checks an ID. Rules are posted at check-in, and a person at the dock reads every request and confirms by email or a call.
  • A website on your own name, with every rental on its own page, the orientation explained and your own waterways' facts, that you keep whatever happens next.

Questions

Straight answers.

What pages does a boat rental website need?

This one has 7 pages, including the rentals, the crew, questions, areas, request a rental. Yours is planned around your own services and towns: a page for each service you want to be found for, and the questions your customers ask before they get in touch.

What does the chat do when a guest asks about renting a boat?

It drafts a rental request: which rental, a day and a backup, the party and ages, the group's boating experience, and a name and contact. A person at the dock reads it and confirms by email or a call. It never prices a rental, takes a deposit, holds a boat, judges anyone's skill or checks an ID, and it does not text.

Will a boat rental website help me get found on Google?

It is built to be found: every service on its own page, titles and descriptions written the way people search, your towns named, and structured data that search engines read. Nobody can promise a ranking, and we do not.

Is Tiller & Chill Boat Rentals a real company?

No. It is a sample business we invented, and so are its address and the job numbers on its paperwork. Every page says so: in its footer, and on its own address in a strip across the top. The telephone number on it is ours, so if you ring it you reach us.

What does a boat rental website cost?

Two separate parts. The website is paid once: 5-page website $1,195, 10-page website $1,895, Complete custom build $2,995. Then a monthly package: Mini is $49 a month with no bots; with the chat answering and every enquiry sent to you, Starter is $149 a month; Growth, with every bot on staff, is $249 a month. Or have our team do it all: Platinum Service, $949 a month. It is everything in Growth, with our people writing and publishing your posts, working on your SEO, answering your reviews and keeping the site running, plus a report every month. Every price is on this page.
